Bayern Munich News: Alphonso Davies talks injury; Jürgen Klopp not making announcement…yet; and MORE!

Davies talks through injury situation (OneSoccer)
“I felt a little bit something in training. Jesse asked if I feel 100%.. and I told him no, to be honest.(..) I don’t want to be a burden on the team or on the pitch not giving my all.. but it’s an injury where you can’t take any risk,” Davies said (as captured by OneSoccer via @iMiaSanMia).

Davies also offered a message to fans on Instagram:
Not the way we wanted our World Cup journey to end.
Representing Canada on the biggest stage in football is something I’ll never take for granted. I’m proud to wear this badge and to stand alongside a group of players who gave everything for our country.
Personally, this tournament was one of the toughest challenges of my career. After suffering a hamstring injury, I wasn’t able to perform at the level I know I’m capable of. It hurts knowing I couldn’t give my all when my team and my country needed it most.
That said, I don’t believe in excuses. Football is full of setbacks, and how you respond is what defines you. This disappointment will only motivate me to recover, work harder, and come back stronger than ever.
To everyone who supported us through every moment, thank you. Your belief and support never goes unnoticed.
We’ll learn from this, we’ll grow, and we’ll be back.
Davies needs time and he should be able to take it if Bayern Munich manages this properly. With Nathaniel Brown in tow Bayern Munich does not need to rush Davies back. Unlike last season, where Bayern Munich did not take advantage of its fortuitous situation, the Bavarians have ample time to let Davies fully recover before allowing him to come back.
Klopp not ready to make any announcements just yet (MagentaTV via @iMiaSanMia)
While things appear to be set for Jürgen Klopp to takeover the German national team, the former Liverpool FC manager was not ready to make an announcement:
Jürgen Klopp on whether there’s news about his expected appointment as Germany head coach: “No, there’s nothing new. When there’s anything to report, you’ll be the first to know.”
At this point, it would be a total upset if Klopp did not take over. It just feels like everyone knows this is the right (only?) move for all parties.
City wants to keep Dias (ESPN)
Despite many bids, Manchester City is not ready to give up center-back Rúben Dias:
Manchester City have rejected enquiries from various clubs for center back Rúben Dias, deeming him to be unavailable for transfer, according to TEAMtalk. Real Madrid, Barcelona and Chelsea have all reportedly explored the possibility of signing the 29-year-old this summer, but City have issues the same clear message each time, stating that he won’t be moving. Madrid have turned their attention to Inter Milan’s Alessandro Bastoni and Borussia Dortmund’s Nico Schlotterbeck.
Shearer says De Zerbi in powerful position with Spurs (Betfair)
Alan Shearer thinks that Tottenham Hotspur boss Roberto De Zerbi is in a good spot with the type of investment that Spurs ownership is putting into the team.
“This is my argument in terms of the rules in football now on clubs spending. You’ve got a team who finished 17th twice in a row, yet they can go and blow everyone out of the water in terms of money-wise, where Newcastle can’t. Newcastle have had to sell their best young players, had to sell their best players to comply with the rules,” Shearer told Betfair. “So, it never, ever sits easy with me. But that’s Tottenham, that’s fine, they can do that. I guess De Zerbi got that in his contract, if we stay up, this is what we have to do, otherwise I’m not coming. So, he’s in a real power situation. The power is always with De Zerbi in terms of what he wants and what he can do. So, yeah, I’m fine with Spurs spending the money. It’s just frustrating that Newcastle with the wealth can’t spend like that.”
Leipzig still working on Gruda deal (Sky Germany’s Philipp Hinze)
RB Leipzig would like to hang out to Brajan Gruda, who spent the second half of last season with the squad:
🔴 Brajan Gruda: Talks between Leipzig & Brighton are ongoing. They’re still looking for the right transfer model. Leipzig’s preference remains a loan with an obligation to buy, while Brighton wants to sell directly. Gruda wants to return to Leipzig. No agreement, no deal. That’s why RB also has to look at alternatives. Nadiem Amiri isn’t hot right now. @SkySportDE
If RB Leipzig can work out a deal with Brighton, will that give it an incentive to cash in on Yan Diomande?
Ballack offers his critique of German national team (@iMiaSanMia)
Michael Ballack had some choice words for the German national team’s performance at the World Cup.
“Our virtues, which have always distinguished Germany, have been somewhat lost. This team cannot deal with difficult situations. We start well, have 10-20 good minutes, maybe even score a goal. But with the first action where we perhaps concede a goal, or make a mistake, the whole thing collapses – and then you ask yourself: why?— it’s mainly down to the players. A coach is incredibly important in such a structure, but the players also handle quite a lot themselves on the pitch – or rather, they have to. This self-responsibility simply has to be there. When the guys look each other in the eye, then you know who you can rely on,” said Ballack.
That is a start, but, man, Jürgen Klopp has some work ahead of him.
