Bayern Munich must be at its best to win everything, says Vincent Kompany
Bayern Munich concluded its preseason tour intended to showcase the abilities of its players. Vincent Kompany had observed that the players played like they had a point to prove, and that is what he wants to see throughout the upcoming club season.
“We’re a team who play without fear – and I love that,” Kompany declared (as captured by X account @iMiaSanMia). “This energy is not always a given, but for us it’s always been there. Now it’s a new season – we have to forget a bit what happened in the past and do it all over again. Not in terms of the principles, but we have to have the feeling that we’re hungry and must show everything again. And we have that.
“The important thing now is everything’s done right, so that we can already perform in the Supercup and then in the Bundesliga, in Europe and in the cup. You need full focus for that. Every new season can always be your best season – and that must be the mentality.”
Bayern Munich will kickstart the 2026/27 season with the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup against Borussia Dortmund on Saturday, August 22.
