TRIAD — Area athletes from Trinity, Wheatmore, East Davidson and Thomasville have been named all-conference from the Central Carolina 3A Conference.

ROCKERS CRUSH CHARLESTON
CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The High Point Rockers crushed the Charleston Dirty Birds 11-4 in Atlantic League baseball Wednesday at Charleston’s GoMart Ballpark.
Ivan Melendez went 4 for 5 with two home runs, a double and five RBIs for the Rockers (19-25), who led 8-2 in the middle of the sixth and added three more in the eighth. Ryan McCarthy added two hits, including a double, and three RBIs. DJ Burt and Luke Napleton each had a hit and an RBI.
David Hess earned the pitching win, striking out five while scattering five htis and one walk over five innings.
HITOMS OUTLAST ASHEBORO
ASHEBORO – The High Point-Thomasville HiToms defeated the Asheboro ZooKeepers 7-4 in Coastal Plain League baseball Wednesday at Asheboro’s McCrary Park.
Charlie Slabaugh went 3 for 4 with a double, a triple and two RBIs for the HiToms (6-4), who led 4-0 through four innings and tacked on three more in the seven and ninth innings. Tyler Parks had two hits, including a double, and an RBI, while Branton Jernigan added a double and an RBI.
Starting pitcher Justin Made earned the win, striking out six while allowing just one hit in five shutout innings.
