Today marks the day Brayan Bello takes the mound after his demotion to Triple-A Worcester. So the obvious question is, how will he do? Does he dominate minor league hitters because his stuff’s still there and the pressure of a major league game is off? Does he get rocked because he doesn’t want to be there and he’s an emotional guy? Do we see a little of both?
Given the enigma that’s been Bello’s entire career, nothing would surprise me at this point, which is why I’m pretty interested in his start today. He’s still owed another $44 million over the next three years after 2026, so the Red Sox are certainly going to try and do everything they can to figure something out.
