Kellen Moore shares update on Saints free agent Cameron Jordan

Cameron Jordan’s future with the New Orleans Saints and in the NFL remains unresolved, but the door is still open for a return. Saints head coach Kellen Moore said Wednesday that New Orleans has a contract offer for the longtime franchise icon, who is working through the decision as a soon-to-be 37-year-old veteran.

“Contract offer available — Cam’s kind of navigating this thing on the personal side,” Moore said, echoing the same comments general manager Mickey Loomis made a month ago. “I think the world of Cam. Navigating it, and obviously here to help in any possible way. We know what he means to this organization, this city. So, if the opportunity presents itself and he feels comfortable and ready to go, we’ll be ready to rock and roll.”

Moore made it clear that the Saints aren’t closing the door on a return for Jordan, who posted double-digit sacks last season for the first time since 2021. The situation now appears to be in Jordan’s hands as he weighs what will come next in his career, if anything.

Since being drafted by the Saints in the first round of the 2011 draft, Jordan has become one of the faces of the organization. Without his presence, the Saints would be without a locker room leader and, as of last year, one of the most productive players on their defense. Moore also made it clear that the Saints still believe Jordan can help them after a resurgent 2025 season.

“We have an offer [out to him] for a reason,” Moore said. “So, we feel good about him and the production he had last year. And so, obviously, we’ll continue to navigate that the best we can.”

The Saints continue to await word from Jordan, while maintaining that they’d love to have him back. As of Wednesday afternoon, Jordan’s market value is $6.8 million for a one-year deal, according to Spotrac.
