49ers announce pair of roster moves at one position after OTAs

The San Francisco 49ers wrapped up their organized team activities last week and were supposed to hold minicamp on Tuesday and Wednesday, but head coach Kyle Shanahan canceled the two sessions.
However, that doesn’t mean that work stops for everyone in the building, as the team announced a pair of roster moves on Wednesday. Those moves included the signing of running back Sincere McCormick and the release of running back Jordan Mims.
McCormick, 25, played at UTSA from 2019-21, earning All-Conference honors twice and All-American honors once during his collegiate career. Since going undrafted in 2022, he’s spent time with the Las Vegas Raiders, Arizona Cardinals, Denver Broncos and Minnesota Vikings. This will also be his third stop in San Francisco in the last year.
In five career games, he’s rushed for 183 yards on 4.7 yards per attempt and caught six passes for 29 yards.
Mims, 26, played at Fresno State from 2017-22, earning All-Mountain West honors once. He went undrafted in 2023 and has spent time with the Buffalo Bills, New Orleans Saints and Tennessee Titans before joining the 49ers last month.
In 14 career games, he’s rushed for 70 yards on 3.5 yards per attempt and caught 12 passes for 71 yards.
