South Carolina star Joyce Edwards wins gold at 2026 FIBA 3×3 World Cup

South Carolina women’s basketball star forward Joyce Edwards won gold, again.
Edwards was one of four college players who made the USA Women’s 3X3 National Team in the 2026 FIBA 3×3 World Cup. That group, which included former Gamecocks teammate and now LSU guard MiLaysia Fulwiley, won a gold medal on June 7 by defeating Australia.
This marked the fourth gold medal for Edwards with USA Basketball and her seventh event overall. This wasn’t her first 3×3 competition, but was her first gold medal. Her other three came on 5×5 events.
Fulwiley’s LSU teammate Mikaylah Williams was also on the gold-medal team, along with Oklahoma’s Sahara Williams The World Cup event was in Warsaw, Poland and started June 1.
Edwards, 6-foot-3, led Dawn Staley’s team in scoring with 19.2 points last year.
Her new teammate, incoming freshman Kelsi Andrews is set for her own USA Basketball event as she made United States‘ final roster and will compete at the 2026 FIBA U18 Women’s AmeriCup. That tournament is scheduled for June 9-15 in Irapuato, Mexico.
Andrews, a 6-foot-2 forward, was South Carolina’s first 2026 signee, committing in November.
