Brewers’ Jacob Misiorowski delivers a pitching stretch not seen since 1968 Bob Gibson

Milwaukee Brewers ace Jacob Misiorowski continues to amaze. He did so again on Saturday, as he suppressed the offense of the Colorado Rockies in a 7-1 victory at Coors Field in Denver, Colorado.
Misiorowski gave up just a run (unearned) on just four hits with three walks, while punching out eight Rockies hitters through 7.0 innings of mound duty.
With yet another superb performance, Misiorowski completed a stretch last seen in the big leagues nearly 60 years ago, as he’s become the only pitcher since Bob Gibson in 1968 to have a 0.20 ERA or lower over the span of seven starts.
Via OptaSTATS:
Jacob Misiorowski of the @Brewers has a 0.20 ERA over his last 7 starts (1 ER in 45.1 IP). That’s the lowest ERA by any MLB pitcher over a 7-start span (min. 30 IP) since Bob Gibson from June 6 to July 6, 1968 (0.14).
The hard-throwing Misiorowski has been spectacular in 2026, with the Brewers constantly getting Cy Young-caliber performance from the 24-year-old right-hander.
In addition, Misiorowski threw a blindingly fast pitch during the game, as he touched 103.7 mph on a pitch in the third inning to Colorado’s Kyle Karros. That was the fastest pitch recorded by a starter since pitches were first tracked in 2008.
Brewers’ Misiorowski fought for a longer stay in the game
Misiorowski had a bit of trouble in the seventh inning but seemingly tried to convince manager Pat Murphy to let him finish the frame.
“I thought it was my job to get it to a point where [two relievers] could throw one inning each and make it through the game without a lot of tax on those arms. It’s just, ‘Don’t take it out of my hands.’ … I want to get out of this inning for the boys,” Misiorowski said after the game, via Manny Randhawa of MLB.com.
After his latest start, Misiorowski has improved to 7-2 with a 1.50 ERA.
Meanwhile, the Brewers now carry a 39-23 record –the best in the National League Central Division by five games.
