Seahawks RG Anthony Bradford exits OTAs with knee injury

Seattle Seahawks starting offensive guard Anthony Bradford exited practice during OTAs with a knee injury. Brady Henderson reported the news Wednesday night.
-Anthony Bradford had to stop practicing after hurting his knee. He stayed on the field, got an ice wrap that he eventually ditched and was walking around fine, but he didn’t go back in. Christian Haynes replaced him at RG.

According to Henderson, he stayed on the field, got an ice wrap, and took it off and walked around, but didn’t return to his spot at right guard. With more than six weeks until veterans are likely to report for training camp, Bradford should be treated with caution for the final day of OTAs tomorrow and Mandatory Minicamp next week. Christian Haynes stepped in in his place.
Although Bradford started last season, the team brought in several guards this offseason who are expected to eventually push him for the starting job. Fifth-round pick Beau Stephens is the hottest of these names. He was an All-American at Iowa and presents the same knack for toughness that’s allowed Grey Zabel to work in the left guard spot. For now, it appears former third-round pick Christian Haynes is still the preferred RG replacement in a moment’s notice. He and Stephens will battle with Bryce Cabeldue and Mason Richman for the backup spots, with one likely destined for the practice squad.
Additional info on Bradford’s injury may come out tomorrow during the last day of OTAs. If it were a more serious injury, he likely wouldn’t be walking around shortly after- but expect the team to be cautious with no reason to rush back immediately.
