Arizona State women’s basketball coach Molly Miller rewarded after breakout season
When the Arizona State women’s basketball program hired viral head coach Molly Miller, who went 117-38 (.760) at Grand Canyon prior to ASU, to take over the Sun Devils, the team was expected to make a turnaround.
But no one could have imagined how quickly that turnaround came.
Miller took a program that was 53-88 and 17-65 in conference play over the past two seasons and turned it into a 24-11 team with an NCAA Tournament berth. On Thursday night, Arizona State rewarded Miller with a new contract that will keep her in Tempe for the foreseeable future.
The program announced its plan to keep “Molly’s Momentum” rolling after a historic year.

“My family and staff are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to continue building at Arizona State,” Miller said in a statement. “We believe deeply in this department and most importantly the people who make this place and our program one-of-a-kind. I am thankful for the leadership and support of President Crow, Graham Rossini and our administration.
“I love this community and believe in what we are building together. We are excited about what’s ahead and to have a chance to build something special at ASU. I cannot wait to keep working alongside our players, staff and the Sun Devil family to make that vision a reality.”
Miller and the Sun Devils got out to a 15-0 start this season, and finished with a 15-2 record at home. The program set a total attendance record (61,695) during the 2025-26 season.
With the impressive start to her Arizona State tenure, Miller advances her career winning percentage to 321-55 (.829), which is third behind only Geno Auriemma and Kim Mulkey.

“Molly’s impact has been immediate, creating real momentum and putting Sun Devil Women’s Basketball in the national spotlight,” Athletics Director Graham Rossini added. “This extension reflects our confidence in her leadership, her vision and the elite program she is building at ASU, one capable of competing for championships. As the season begins Nov. 2, we need Sun Devil fans to pack Desert Financial Arena and support this exciting roster.”
