See the record CBS Sports predicts FSU football to have in 2026

Florida State is looking to bounce back after back-to-back sub-.500 seasons, and it appears that in 2026, CBS Sports predicts that they will do better than the previous two seasons.

Per CBS Sports analyst Brad Crawford, he predicts the Seminoles to finish at 6-6, with wins over New Mexico State, Central Arkansas, Virginia, Boston College, Pittsburgh, and NC State. He sees losses to SMU, Alabama, Louisville, Miami, Clemson, and Florida.

He was not shy about Mike Norvell’s tenure: “If the Seminoles get to 6-6 with losses to every goodteam on the schedule, the conversation won’t center on bowl eligibility — it will focus on Mike Norvell’s future,” he says.

Summing it up succinctly, he added, “At a place where competing for ACC championships is the standard, a .500 regular season would leave decision-makers with a choice to make.”

FSU hadn’t had back-to-back losing seasons with a coach not named Mike Norvell since 1975-76, when the Seminoles went 3-8 and 5-6, respectively.

The team is hoping 2026 will be a good year, and they can get off on the right foot against New Mexico State in Week 0. That game begins Aug. 29 from Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee.
