Bill Belichick Hit With New Family Drama After Arrest Order

Off-field headlines continue to follow those connected to Bill Belichick, this time involving a legal issue within his family.
While the legendary coach is not personally involved, a new court development concerning his daughter-in-law has drawn attention after she reportedly failed to appear for a scheduled hearing in North Carolina.
The missed court date has now resulted in an arrest order, adding another unexpected chapter to the Belichick family’s news cycle.
Bill Belichick’s Daughter-In-Law Faces Arrest Order After Missing Court Date
Bill Belichick’s daughter-in-law, Jen Belichick, has been hit with an arrest order after failing to appear for a scheduled court hearing in Brunswick County, North Carolina.
Jennifer Schmitt, who is married to the coach’s son and UNC defensive coordinator Stephen Belichick, was expected in court on Friday morning, according to court records obtained by the Daily Mail.
The hearing stemmed from a speeding incident that occurred in the town of Leland on May 21. According to the records, Jen was stopped by the North Carolina State Highway Patrol after allegedly driving her Jeep at 88 mph in a 70 mph zone.
Due to the speed involved, authorities required her to appear in court on July 10 to address the citation. However, she did not attend the scheduled hearing.
Court records show that after her failure to appear, an arrest order was issued shortly after 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 13.
Bill’s Family Rift Came Into Public View Over Jordon Hudson
Long before the latest legal issue involving Bill Belichick’s daughter-in-law, Schmitt had already made headlines after publicly criticizing the coach’s girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, over her widely discussed interruption during his CBS “Sunday Morning” interview.
The viral moment occurred after Hudson cut off a question about how she and Bill met, saying, “We’re not talking about this.”
As debate unfolded online, some defended Hudson by arguing she was simply acting as Bill’s publicist.
Schmitt, however, disagreed, responding on Instagram that “publicists act in a professional manner and don’t ‘storm’ off set delaying an interview.”
Bill later defended Hudson, insisting she was “simply doing her job” and accusing CBS of presenting a “false narrative” through selective editing of the interview.
Bill Belichick’s Daughter-In-Law Stood By Linda Holliday After Jordon Hudson Drama
Schmitt’s criticism of Hudson wasn’t the last time she found herself connected to the dynamics surrounding Bill’s personal life.
Months later, she attracted fresh attention after attending the 2025 Dreamland Stroll Party in Nantucket, where she was photographed with Bill’s former longtime partner, Linda Holliday.
Schmitt even shared a smiling photo of the pair on Instagram Stories, captioning it, “The Stroll Queen.”
The appearance drew attention because the same event had been the scene of a tense confrontation the previous year.
According to an incident report Holliday reportedly asked event organizers to remove Hudson, believing it was inappropriate for her to attend a party headlined by Holliday’s daughters, Ashley and Kat Hess.
Witnesses later described Holliday as “very aggressive” during a confrontation on the dance floor, and Hudson was ultimately asked to leave the event.
Hudson’s Relationship With Bill Reportedly Deepened Family Divide
While Jordon Hudson has reportedly faced resistance from some members of Bill Belichick’s extended family, some claims suggest her own family relationships have also been strained in recent years.
According to an insider who spoke to the Daily Mail, relatives described the former cheerleader as an “outsider” long before she began dating the legendary coach, claiming she had become increasingly distant from many extended family members.
The source alleged that “a lot of Jordon’s extended family has never met Bill” and said several relatives first learned about the romance through media reports rather than Hudson herself.
The insider also claimed, “She’s always kind of been hard to get along with and the outsider,” adding that she had not spoken to some family members in years.
Despite those reported tensions, Hudson has maintained a close relationship with her parents, who have been seen supporting her alongside Bill at public events.
Bill Belichick Faced Fresh Online Mockery While Supporting Jordon Hudson
Despite the reported family tensions surrounding their relationship, Bill has continued to publicly support Hudson.
He showed that support again in April when he traveled to Orlando to support Hudson as her Code Black squad captured the International Open Coed Non-Tumbling title at the Cheerleading Worlds, with Hudson later sharing a selfie of the pair on Instagram.
Poking fun at the traditional sports term for players’ wives and girlfriends, she captioned the photo, “Roses [Up] for Bill the WAG.”
While many fans praised the former NFL coach for supporting his girlfriend’s passion, others quickly turned the image into a meme, talking about Bill’s new role on the sidelines and the couple’s nearly 50-year age gap.
“I’m so embarrassed for Bill. If he was competent enough to know what’s going on, he’d be humiliated,” one person wrote, while another added, “Genuinely so bizarre dating a grandpa.”
A third user added, “Bill went from the greatest coach of all time to spending his weekends watching people who miss high school doing geriatric cheerleading competitions,” read another swipe at Belichick.
