In-state outfielder transfer commits to Texas A&M baseball

The Texas A&M baseball program has landed its second transfer of the day, with former Dallas Baptist outfielder Dylan Schlaegel committing to the Aggies, according to Richard Zane of TexAgs.
Schlaegel spent the first three years of his career at Dallas Baptist, redshirting in 2024 before playing in 24 games as a sophomore and breaking out in 2026. He hit .279 in 2026 with 12 home runs, 10 doubles, 41 RBI, and scored 39 runs. He had a .420 on-base percentage and a .607 slugging percentage.
The Mansfield, Texas product played in 49 games and started 40 in center. He was named to the All-CUSA Second Team after his breakout performance and will look to take another step in the SEC.
He has made just one error in his career, posting a .992 fielding percentage. He stole 16 bases last season and will add some speed to Texas A&M’s lineup. Schlaegel will have three seasons of eligibility with the Aggies and is eligible for the 2026 MLB Draft.
Schlaegel played in 24 games as a redshirt freshman in 2025, making eight starts. He hit .250 (10-40) with one home run, one double, and eight RBI. He had a .350 slugging percentage and drew six walks, striking out 17 times, and stealing seven bases.
He is the second outfield transfer that the Aggies have added this offseason and the second transfer on Friday. Former UConn infielder Tyler Minick also committed to Texas A&M, announcing the news shortly before Schlaegel.
