Top RB flips from Penn State to Rutgers football, joins immediately

Rutgers football already has a deep group of running backs.
Now it’s added another to the mix.
Aiden Gibson, a four-star running back out of South Carolina who had been committed to Penn State since May, flipped to Rutgers on July 7 and will reclassify to join the program immediately.
The 6-foot-1, 212-pound Gibson had been part of the 2027 recruiting class.
It’s a similar path as Scarlet Knights star running back Antwan Raymond, who also reclassified to join the program a year early.
Gibson will now hope to develop at Rutgers the way Raymond has.
He held an impressive list of offers before committing to Penn State – in included Florida, Florida State, Indiana, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, North Carolina, South Carolina, Louisville, Georgia Tech and Pittsburgh, among others.
Per the 247Sports Composite rankings, Gibson is the 10th-ranked running back in the nation for the Class of 2027, and No. 158 overall.
Gibson now joins a room that in addition to Raymond includes Ja’shon Benjamin, Louisiana Tech transfer Clay Thevenin and Edd Guerrier among others.
