PSG Offload Two Players to Belgian Champions Club Brugge

Out of contract as of June 30, two more members of PSG‘s 2008 generation have officially left for Belgium: center back Samba Coulibaly and winger Elijah Ly.

The exodus of the 2008 generation continues. Following the departures of Mathis Jangeal to Famalicao and Pierre Mounguengue to Dynamo Kyiv, two more young PSG players have signed with their new club. Center back Samba Coulibaly and winger Elijah Ly, who have known each other since the age of 5, have both signed with Belgian champion Club Brugge through June 2030.

PSG offered a professional contract to Coulibaly last December and a trainee professional contract to Ly, but the two 18-year-old friends ultimately chose to join the Belgian side. In a statement, Club Brugge specified that its two new signings will begin the season training with the first team, which will compete in next season’s Champions League. They are then expected to play for the club’s reserve team, Club NXT, which competes in Belgium’s second division, alongside KAS Eupen, the club recently acquired by QSI, as well as in the Youth League.

During the 2025-26 season, Samba Coulibaly made 27 appearances for PSG’s youth teams, including the Coupe Gambardella final against Montpellier and the Youth League semifinal against Real Madrid. The Stains native was also named to the bench for the Ligue 1 match against Lorient on May 2.

Elijah Ly made 24 appearances last season and scored six goals, including three in the Youth League against Bayern Munich, Villarreal and Real Madrid. The young winger also started in both the Gambardella final and the National U19 Championship final, both of which PSG won.

Among the members of the 2008 generation, only midfielder Adam Ayari and goalkeeper Arthur Vignaud accepted professional contracts with PSG, according to L’Equipe. Center back Hermann Malonga is set to join Manchester City, while Emmanuel Mbemba and Aymen Assab have been linked with Monaco. Goalkeeper Martin James is also expected to leave, though not for Lille, according to the latest information from Onze Mondial.
