Broncos roster: OL Michael Deiter (No. 67) provides veteran depth at center

Broncos Wire‘s 91-man offseason roster series continues today with a look at seventh-year offensive lineman Michael Deiter, No. 67.
Before the Broncos: Deiter (6-6, 310 pounds) began his NFL career as a third-round pick (78th overall) of the Miami Dolphins in the 2019 NFL draft. In his rookie year, Deiter immediately became an instant starter, starting 15 of 16 games, even recording a catch (for zero yards). In 2020, Deiter saw an immediate drop-off, playing in all 16 games, but as a primary special teams player and rotational blocker. In 2021, Deiter came back to start eight of eight games he played in, although his season was cut short due to a significant foot injury which kept him out for over two months.
In his final year with the Dolphins in 2022, Deiter again was relegated to the role of backup lineman and special teams. Ahead of the 2023 season, Deiter signed a one-year deal with the Houston Texans, where he played in 16 contests, earning 10 starts.
After one season in Texas, Deiter moved on to the Washington Commanders, where he played in 17 games in 2024 (two starts). He played just two games with the Commanders in 2025 before being assigned to the practice squad for the remainder of DC’s season.
Broncos tenure: Deiter was signed to the Denver Broncos‘ practice squad late in 2025, but was soon cut from the team to make room for wide receiver Brandon Johnson prior to the AFC Championship game in January. He did not appear in any games for the Broncos in 2025, but was re-signed on a reserve/future contract in January.
Chances to make the 53-man roster: Potential practice squad player, or a late roster cut. Deiter was with the Broncos for a short time in 2025, but must have made enough of an impression to be brought back in 2026. With all of the starting spots and the emergence of several great backup players, Deiter is projected to be the third center option behind Luke Wattenberg and Alex Forsyth this summer.
