Chelsea Tipped To Go For This Manchester United Winger: Should Alonso Snap Him Up?

In a recent interview with the Metro, former Premier League defender William Gallas tipped Chelsea to go for Manchester United winger Marcus Rashford. Gallas said,
‘I think Marcus Rashford did well at Barcelona.
‘They had a good system. I’m surprised he didn’t sign for them permanently, I don’t know what happened.
‘I would say Chelsea would be a better fit given how they play. I’m sure he wanted to stay in Barcelona, but it didn’t happen.
‘If he has to come back to the Premier League, or maybe go somewhere else like Italy, we will see. But I could picture him at Chelsea.’
Rashford’s Impressive Loan Spell At Barcelona
Rashford had a decent loan spell at Barcelona last season when he produced a string of productive displays for them in La Liga. The 28-year-old registered 14 goals and picked up 14 assists in 49 matches for the Catalan outfit in the previous campaign across multiple competitions.
The England international is currently among the most talented wide players in European football. Hence, Chelsea would do well to lure him to Stamford Bridge in this transfer period.
His current contract at his parent club, Manchester United, will run out in the summer of 2028. Therefore, the Blues would have to make a convincing offer if they are serious about signing him later this year.

Should Chelsea Boss Xabi Alonso Snap Rashford Up This Summer?
Rashford has got the pace to cause a few headaches for his marker out in the wide positions. He has got the eye to play some decisive passes in the final third and is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet.
The English attacker can shoot the ball with power from long range and can contribute by scoring and creating his fair share of goals from the flanks. Rashford is primarily a left-winger but can also operate as a right-sided wide player or as a centre-forward if required. He is already quite familiar with the Premier League and won’t take much time to settle into life at the West London club if they manage to sign him this summer.
We can expect Rashford to improve the quality of Chelsea boss Xabi Alonso’s frontline. He is good enough to fight for a regular first-team spot at Stamford Bridge in the coming seasons.
At 28, Rashford is about to enter his prime, which makes him a decent option for the Blues to pursue in this summer transfer period. All in all, Alonso should focus on snapping him up soon.
