Florida State offers 2028 DL in Mississippi

The Florida State Seminoles have one commitment in their 2028 recruiting class, and they’re searching for more talent. Defensive lineman Ta’corey Barnett, out of Macon, Mississippi, announced an offer from the Seminoles on social media after attending a camp on their campus Wednesday.

“After a great camp I blessed to receive a offer from Florida State University,” Barnett wrote.

The 6-foot-5, 260-pounder plays at Noxubee County High School. As a sophomore, Barrett appeared in seven games. He racked up 19 tackles, one tackle for loss, one sack, five quarterback hurries, one interception, one pass breakup, and one fumble recovery. Barnett also played in eight games as a freshman and logged 21 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, one sack, and one pass breakup.

Barnett isn’t a ranked prospect at the moment, but that should change when they expand the rankings for 2028 prospects.
