Jeremy Doku and Belgium are through to the Round of 16 at this year’s FIFA World Cup after a dramatic 3-2 victory over Senegal in Seattle.

It looked for all the world that they were out when Habib Diarra and Ismaila Sarr put the African side 2-0 up.

And it wasn’t until the 86th minute that Belgium made their first move, with Romelu Lukaku pulling one back before Youri Tielemans equalised three minutes later.

That took the game to extra time, where Tielemans scored a 125th minute penalty kick – effectively the last moment of the match – after a VAR review had judged he was fouled by Lamine Camara.

It wasn’t the perfect day for Doku, who was replaced in the 56th minute by Dodi Lukebakio.

Our winger spent most of the game on the right of Belgium’s attack and struggled to recapture the explosive form we’ve so often seen from the left.

Former City man Kevin De Bruyne was also involved from the start but eventually replaced by Rangers’ Nicolas Raskin.

However, they’ll now have another chance to shine when Belgium face USA in the same stadium at 01:00 (UK) on Tuesday 7 July for a place in the last eight.

We’ll have roundups from every game at this summer’s World Cup involving a City player right here on mancity.com and our official app.
