World Cup: Cunha guides Brazil to first win as Haiti first to exit

Brazil sit at the top of Group C after their comfortable win over Haiti. Matheus Cunha scored the first two goals in a dominant first-half display for Carlo Ancelotti’s side that also saw Vinicius Junior score his second goal of the tournament.
Seleção had further clear-cut chances after the restart, but Haiti managed to keep them from adding to the scoreline. After their disappointing start to the tournament, the five-time winners are now in a great position to qualify for the Round of 32. In a repeat of the 1998 World Cup clash, Brazil will be reunited with Scotland in their final group stage fixture.
Meanwhile, Haiti are the first to get eliminated from the group stage of the 2026 World Cup. They are certain to finish bottom of the group as they face Morocco, who are already on four points, in their final game. The Atlas Lions beat Scotland earlier, with Bayern-bound Ismael Saibari scoring the only goal of the game inside the first 90 seconds.
