Just minutes before the 2026 NBA Draft began, UNC one-and-done Caleb Wilson was shown on the ESPN broadcast.
He was wearing wired headphones.
It was certainly a choice for minutes before the clock got started, but Wilson didn’t look in a hurry to change.
He was in a great suit, of course, but then he had the earbuds in — and they weren’t even wireless.

Why is Caleb Wilson wearing wired headphones?
We can’t know for sure, but it’s likely that it has something to do with lowering Wilson’s stress level.
Either he’s listening to a song that puts him at ease, which would make a lot of sense.
Or he’s not listening to anything but just wants to block out a tiny bit of noise.
The wired-headphone thing is something that some athletes have gone for recently, with various reasons, but there’s no way to read into that for sure, either.
Wilson is expected to be a top-five pick, and he has a chance to be an NBA star.
Whether he takes the stage with the headphones or not remains to be seen.
All we hope is that he’s got a good tune in his ears.
