What should we expect from new Boston Celtics big man Chris Cenac Jr. in his rookie campaign in the NBA? The former University of Houston forward had an ill-defined role with the roster he played his collegiate basketball with, the paint crowded and his center skill set downplayed to help make up for what the team needed under coach Sampson instead.
That course of events let Cenac fall to the range where he could be picked up by the Celtics with the No. 27 pick of the 2026 NBA Draft – but also left him an under-developed (but hyper-athletic and so, so long) prospect that might be shaped into a dangerous player. Or might not, as these things can sometimes go.
