Norway fans took the world by storm with their “Viking Row” chant during this summer’s World Cup. Gophers fans quickly wondered whether or not it could come to Minnesota due to P.J. Fleck’s Row The Boat mantra, and the program quickly answered: yes. Thursday night’s season opener was our first chance to see what it would look like at Huntington Bank Stadium.

The chant was led by former Gophers linebacker Kamal Martin prior to the first kickoff, and once the student section all sat down, it looked pretty cool. It was the first time for everyone involved, so it will be interesting to see how it changes going forward.
