Washington Football Beats Out Arizona For Top 2027 Long Snapper

The Washington Huskies snagged another verbal commitment from Sandra Day O’Connor High School for its 2027 recruiting class on Thursday with the addition of long snapper Braylon Logan.
Listed at 6-foot-2 and 240 pounds, Logan hails from the same high school as four-star running back commit Jeremy Adeyanju, in Arizona, and ultimately chose Jedd Fisch, special teams coordinator Chris Petrilli, and the Huskies over an offer from the in-state Wildcats.
“1000 percent committed to UW football,” Logan wrote in a post on social media to announce his decision. “(Special teams coordinator Chris) Petrilli and Brett Arkelian, thank you for this amazing opportunity. January can’t come soon enough. I’m truly blessed for all the people God has placed in my life to get me this far.”
Of importance, Logan’s acknowledgement of January indicates the specialist will enroll for the winter quarter after the 2026 college football season, which will give the program at least a pair of young long snappers to head into the following spring, unlike this past April.
1000% Commited to @UW_Football! @CoachPetrilli and @IcemanCoaching, thank you for this amazing opportunity. January can’t come soon enough! I’m truly blessed for all the people God has placed in my life to get me this far. #GoDAWGS#Blessed#AZEliteSnap@steverausch17… pic.twitter.com/m7KNNl08JL

Former IMG Academy long snapper Ben Ferber joined the program this summer to join senior Ryan Kean, a valued transfer addition from Utah State prior to last season. Former freshman walk-on Hunter Solwold opted to transfer to Florida, which resulted in UW being short-handed for spring practices.
Logan is ranked as the No. 1 long snapper in the Grand Canyon State and No. 3 in the country, per Kohl’s Kicking.
“Logan is the most consistent Snapper in the country,” Kohl’s Kicking wrote in an evaluation. “He simply doesn’t miss his target and has tight rotation on each ball. Logan has one of the smoothest and most repeatable snapping motions I have ever seen from a high school snapper. He was dominant during the 2026 Kohl’s Spring Western Showcase, finishing tied for the highest overall charting score in the country and an average snap time of .68 seconds. Logan checks every box a college coach is looking for and has the talent to start at the Power 4 level.”
With Kean having played three seasons at Utah Tech and two seasons at UW after this coming fall, Petrilli and Arkelian will likely also look to add another snapper through the transfer portal to support and compete with the two underclassmen, Ferber and Logan, come next year.
