Now that LeBron James has made his “Decision” to join the 76ers, it’s only natural to want tickets to watch the NBA’s living legend play.
Well, you might as well take out a second mortgage if you’re going to try the secondary markets, and you might have to act quickly to get tickets through the Sixers.
James, after all, is easily one of the top five players in NBA history. The 41-year-old is entering his 24th NBA season. But he’s still at, or near, the top of his game. James was only one of four NBA players last season to average at least 20 points (20.9), 7 rebounds (7.6) and 6 assists (6.1) last season, joining Denver’s Nikola Jokic, James’ former teammate with the Lakers in Luka Doncic, and the Hawks’ Jalen Johnson.
Plus, James is a multi-billionaire, and one of the most recognized figures in professional sports.
If you’re looking for season tickets, you can still get them via the Sixers’ website https://www.nba.com/sixers/tickets. But those are likely going quickly.
If you’re looking for single-game tickets, you’ll have to go through Ticketmaster.com, and you’ll have to wait until mid-August. That’s when the NBA schedule is expected to be released.
For now, the Sixers have announced two preseason games, including a home preseason game against the Celtics on Oct. 16. For that game, tickets on Stubhub begin at $318 for upper level seats. That’s as of 3:20 p.m. on July 24. They increase dramatically from there.

Keep in mind that for a preseason game, there is no guarantee that James, or other Sixers veterans, will play that night. And if they do play, it won’t be for very long.
So you can only imagine how much more Sixers tickets will cost for their home opener, likely the week of Oct. 19. There’s a good chance it will also be a national TV game.
The NBA was apparently waiting for James to make his decision on a new team before releasing the schedule. That’s because James, as a global superstar, will make the team he signs for a national TV phenomenon. So the Sixers will likely get several prime time opportunities this season.
“We have to finish up the schedule, right? And where LeBron plays will affect the schedule,” NBA Commissioner Adam Silver told The Hollywood Reporter. “So I would like him to make his announcement already, so he can finish the schedule.
“Because as you might imagine, the teams are calling us, the networks are calling us, and everybody wants to lock in the schedule. But it will influence how we set the schedule, how we set opening week, Christmas Day, etc.”
