Victor Wembanyama closes post-NBA Finals presser with odd message to reporters

For all of Victor Wembanyama’s apparent wisdom beyond his years, the San Antonio Spurs phenom still has moments you’re reminded he’s still just a 22-year-old learning to regulate his emotions in a competitive field.
His postgame press conference after losing the NBA Finals on Saturday night was one of those moments, because after giving some thoughtful answers on the lessons learned from the crushing defeat, he closed the presser with an odd message to reporters.
“Appreciate y’all. See y’all never,” he said.
Yeah, I’ll be honest, I’m not exactly sure what he meant by that. I got nothing for you.

Was Wembanyama upset at the line of questioning? Was he speaking specifically to New York media and taking a subtle jab at the Knicks’ chances to repeat? Or was that simply a nonsensical utterance of words by someone still emotional from the loss?
All of those things are probably on the board.
