The Boston Celtics might win the 2026 NBA Draft if they take Ugonna Onyenso at No. 40 overall. Or at least that is the point of view of the hosts of the “How Bout Them Celtics!” podcast, Jack Simone and Sam LaFrance, who took a deep dive into the shot-blocking 7-footer who last played for Virginia.
And with that team at the NCAA level, the 21-year-old put up 6.5 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.9 blocks over 18.6 minutes per game. The 237-lb. big man shot 56.8 percent from the field overall, an interesting 27.8 percent from beyond the arc on limited attempts, and an intriguing 72.7 percent from the free throw line last season.
Take a look at the clip embedded below to hear what they had to say about why he would be such a great get at No. 40 for the Celtics.
