Summer Roundup, Schedule: Milford holds on to top Shrewsbury

American Legion

Milford 5, Shrewsbury 4: Nick Pedroli forced a ground out in with the bases loaded in the top of the seventh as Post 59 (14-2) held on to beat host Post 397 (11-4).

Cole McGovern singled in Tyler Ballard in the sixth to score the winning run. Teammate Sam Schoenberg drove in Nick Pedroli and Ben Maiorano with a single in the third and added a two-run homer in the fifth, plating Pedroli.

Finn McDonough led Shrewsbury with two hits and two RBIs, Drew O’Connell had two hits and an RBI, and Cam Kelly collected a hit and two runs.

Cherry Valley 8, Hudson 6: Nolan Remington collected three RBIs and two runs, Andrew Cloutier was 2 for 3 with two RBIs, Matthew Alves went 2 for 4 with an RBI and a run, and Jeffrey Guzman and Jacoby Beniowski scored two runs each to lift visiting Post 443 (7-8).

Garrett Mahoney hit two doubles and drove in two runs for Post 100 (7-9), while Jacob Cramer doubled and scored.

Leominster 9, Northborough 2: Troy Leighton was 3 for 4 with two RBIs and two runs, Cam Cirone went 2 for 3 with an RBI and three runs, and Mike Goss went 3 for 4 with a run to lift visiting Post 151 (14-2).

Leominster’s Danny Frade and Nolan Tetreault each singled, scored and drove in a run.

Matthew Fialkow and AJ Phaneuf each singled and scored to lead Post 234 (1-14).

Northbridge 13, Framingham 3: Jack Marino belted a three-run homer in the bottom of the fifth and drove in Jake Costello (2-4, 2 runs) in the third as host Post 343 (9-6) downed Post 117 (8-8).

Northbridge’s J.P. Bolduc was 2 for 3 with two RBIs and two runs, while Antonio D’Alfonso was 2 for 2 with an RBI and a run.

Jaxon Fertel was 2 for 3 with an RBI for Framingham.

Futures League

New Britain 5, Bravehearts 3: Jacob Malfant singled in Jack Murray in the bottom of the third and Gill Dolan crossed on an error to give Worcester a 2-1 lead, but the visiting Bees (17-12) scored the next four runs and held on to beat the Bravehearts (17-12).

Worcester’s Dylan Prince scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the ninth.
