95 days from today, the Pittsburgh Steelers will host the Atlanta Falcons at home in the Steel City.

In the spirit of the countdown to kickoff, we at Steelers Wire will take a look at the history of the No. 95 jersey and analyze which players wore it best.

Steelers current No. 95 wearer:

Last five Steelers to wear No. 95

  • Keeanu Benton, 2023-present
  • Chris Wormley, 2020-2022
  • Jarvis Jones, 2013-2016
  • Corbin Bryant, 2011
  • Donovan Woods, 2008-2009

Best No. 95 in Steelers history: LB Greg Lloyd

Another day, another countdown looking at the greatest Steelers to wear their respective jersey numbers. When it comes to No. 95, it’s easy: the best Steeler to wear that number is linebacker Greg Lloyd.

Lloyd, selected by the Steelers with the 150th overall pick in the sixth round of the 1987 NFL Draft, went on to play 10 seasons with Pittsburgh and one with the Carolina Panthers before calling it a career following the 1998 season.

Recording 791 combined tackles, 54.5 sacks, 11 interceptions, and 38 forced fumbles, Lloyd was named to five Pro Bowls, earned three straight First-Team All-Pro selections from 1993 to 1995, and entered the Steelers’ Hall of Honor in 2020.

An intense leader with toughness that would strike fear in any opposing offense, Lloyd is undoubtedly the best Steeler to ever wear No. 95.
