Reports indicated that the Pittsburgh Steelers were dealing with some problems in the locker room earlier this week after Mike McCarthy’s remarks, an interesting scenario for a team that didn’t seem to have any problems.
While anything can happen behind the scenes and nobody really knows what’s going on besides the players and people in the locker room, it didn’t feel like anything was wrong with Pittsburgh.
While those reports suggested something might be going on behind the scenes, Pat Freiermuth pushed back, saying people took it the wrong way and things are more than fine in the locker room.
“I think people got took that inaccurately. It was more so of us going over the first four weeks, what we can get better at, going on the same page, and what we can do over the next four weeks until the bye week. Everything is good in the locker room. We are working to win. We’re 2-2, we wish we were better, but there are things on film that are correctable that we are able to fix,” he said, per Steelers Wire.
Freiermuth has been with the Steelers for a couple of seasons now after starring at Penn State and is one of the leaders in the locker room.
For him to say this, it should be a good sign that nothing is really going on behind the scenes.
Perhaps there are a bit of problems that aren’t being spoken about, and he doesn’t want to bring them up, but the Steelers look more than fine in terms of team chemistry.
