FSU offensive line target commits to ACC program

The Florida State Seminoles are still looking for their first commitment along the offensive line in the 2027 recruiting cycle, and they will have to keep searching after three-star target Shavezz Dixon committed to the North Carolina Tar Heels on Friday.

Dixon was also considering the Pittsburgh Panthers, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, and Virginia Cavaliers. The Seminoles have been recruiting the Lessburg, Georgia, product since January, when they offered him a scholarship during a visit. He returned to Tallahassee in March for an unofficial visit.

He is ranked as the No. 593 overall player and No. 37 interior offensive lineman in the 247Sports composite. He is also the No. 72 player from Georgia. He attends Lee County and is teammates with FSU linebacker commit Gregory Batson. Running back Ousmane Kromah also went to Lee County before coming to FSU.

While FSU offensive line coach Herb Hand has done a great job in the transfer portal, they have struggled recruiting the high school ranks over the past two years, and this year’s board is starting to thin after Dixon and several other targets committed elsewhere. They do have several targets still available, including three-star interior lineman DaJohn Yarborough.
