Slo-Mo video of Angel Reese’s injury sparks concerns

The Atlanta Dream defeated the Chicago Sky on Sunday. However, the win was overshadowed by the injury suffered by their star center, Angel Reese. She got hurt on a jump stop under the basket in the fourth quarter. The three-time WNBA All-Star’s knee buckled and she exited the game immediately.
The Slo-Mo of the sequence was posted on X. It sparked concern from fans as many understood how serious it could be. Some feared that Reese may have sustained a hyperextension and could be out for an extended period.

“Feet planted really hard, reason I play in ankle braces. Hope she’s ok,” a comment read.
Angel Reese vs. the Sky
Reese played 20 minutes and finished with eight points, five rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block. She struggled from the field, shooting 3 of 13. Allisha Gray picked up the slack, recording 29 points, six rebounds and three assists in the 93-91 victory. Chicago, on the other hand, had Azura Stevens leading the way with 20 points and nine rebounds.
The Dream are on a three-game winning streak and will return to action on July 29 versus the Dallas Wings. It remains to be seen if Reese will be available to play, but the long break gives her more time to recover.
