Section V track results from Day 1 of state championships

Track and field athletes began — and in some cases completed — their season-long push toward high school state championships June 13 at Webster Schroeder.
Here is how some of the sprinters, jumpers, hurdlers, distance runners and throwers from Section V schools fared on Day 1 of the two-day meet.

Claire Lashomb, 7th-grader at Fairport
- Won the Federation and Class A girls 100-meter wheelchair championship race, 20.47 seconds.
- Won the Federation and Class A girls 400-meter wheelchair championship race, 1 minute, 8.89 seconds. This was uncontested.
Boys 100-meter dash
- Noah Collins-Howard (Rush-Henrietta): Won Class A heat, 10.81 seconds, advanced to final.
- Evan Clarcq (Gananda): Fifth place in Class C heat, 11.15 seconds, advanced to final.
- Luis Falu (Monroe): Third place in Class B heat, 10.85 seconds, advanced to final.
- Will Vitale (Brighton): Seventh place in Class A heat, 11.27 seconds, did not advance.
Girls 100-meter dash
- Savanna Biehler (Fairport): Won Class A heat, 11.89 seconds, advanced to final.
- Ry’onna Drumgoole (Young Women’s College Prep): Fifth place in Class C heat, 12.49 seconds, advanced to final.
- MaKayla George (Fairport): Fourth place in Class A heat, 12.43 seconds, did not advance.
- Ka’Mara Lane (Padilla at Franklin): Won Class A heat, 11.96 seconds, advanced to final.
- Nevaeh Thomas (Batavia): Third place in Class B heat, 12.34 seconds, advanced to final.
100-meter hurdles
- Natalie Chalk-Spoor (Marcus Whitman): Did not start Class C heat.
- Ty’Nique Edmunds (Fairport): Fourth place in Class A heat, 15.06 seconds, advanced to final.
- Lauren Schmeelk (Williamson): Fourth place in Class C heat, 15.97 seconds, did not advance.
- Madeline Smith (Batavia): Fourth place in Class B heat, 16.07 seconds, advanced to final.
110-meter hurdles
- Wyatt Bugenhagen (Canandaigua): Fourth place in Class B heat, 15.27 seconds, did not advance.
- Colton Fleming (Bath Haverling): Did not finish Class C heat race.
- Colin Rea (Byron-Bergen): Won Class C heat, 14.73, advanced to final.
- Xavier Scott (Wellsville): Won Class C heat, 14.64 seconds, advanced to final.
- Max Trovato (Webster Thomas): Sixth place in Class A heat, 15.81 seconds, did not advance.
Girls 400-meters
- Haley Conner (Gananda): Third place in Class C final, 56.88 seconds.
- Ellis McIlhenney (Victor): third place in Class A final, 55.95 seconds.
- Rebecca Schroeder (Webster Schroeder): Sixth place in Class A final, 56.73 seconds.
- Karizma Wescott (Batavia): Second place in Class B final, 55.76 seconds.
Boys 400-meters
- Brennan Ingram (East Rochester): Fifth place in Class C final, 49.78 seconds.
- Michael Kusch (Pittsford Mendon): Sixth place in Class B final, 49.75 seconds.
- Ben Rizzone (Brighton): Tenth place in Class A final, 49.49 seconds.
Girls 800-meters
- Mallory Boyce (Batavia): Thirty second place in Federation race, 2:18.99, ninth place NYSPHSAA Class B.
- Bridget Courtney (Spencerport): Tenth place in Federation race, 2:12.61, seventh place NYSPHSAA Class A.
- Alayna Garlapow (Bloomfield): Twenty second place in Federation race, 2:16.66, fourth place NYSPHSAA Class C.
Boys 800-meters
- Simon Aguilar (Geneseo): Ninth place in Federation race, 1 minute and 53.51 seconds, third place NYSPHSAA Class C.
- Ben Burns (Williamson): Twenty sixth in Federation race, 1:56.92, sixth place NYSPHSAA Class C.
- Sam DiNolfo (Victor): Forty eighth in Federation race, 2:02.42, 12th place NYSPHSAA Class A.
- Zine Kantari (Pittsford Sutherland): Thirty sixth in Federation race, 1:58.26, 14th NYSPHSAA Class B.
