Seahawks lose another front office executive to Vikings

Winning Super Bowl 60 has caused the Seattle Seahawks to lose an abundance of players, coaches, and executives this offseason. It started when former offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak was hired as the Las Vegas Raiders’ new head coach. It continued when long-time assistant general manager Nolan Teasley was appointed as the Minnesota Vikings’ GM earlier this offseason.

Now, Seahawks GM John Schneider is losing another soldier to the Vikings. Teasley is bringing Trent Kirchner with him to Minnesota. Kirchner had been serving as Schneider’s vice president of player personnel.

In his announcement tweet, Ian Rapoport claimed “Kirchner is widely regarded as one of the NFL’s top talent evaluators.”

With Kirchner following Teasley to the Vikings, Schneider has officially lost his top two executives this offseason. Strong draft classes set the foundation for the Seahawks to win Super Bowl 60. Hopefully Schneider and the Seahawks can continue drafting well while reshuffling the front office staff.

Kirchner had been a part of the Seahawks’ organization under Schneider since the 2010 campaign. The Fulda, Minnesota native began in Seattle as assistant director of pro personnel. He ultimately couldn’t reject an opportunity to return to his hometown Minnesota in an elevated role. Kirchner will be missed in Seattle.
