MYRTLE BEACH — Myrtle Beach starter Noah Edders allowed one hit in five scoreless innings and combined with two other relievers on a two-hit shutout in a 6-0 win over the Charleston RiverDogs on Aug. 1 at Pelicans Ballpark.
Reliever Edwardo Melendez followed with three scoreless frames for Myrtle Beach, while Sam Mettert closed it out.
The lone two hits for Charleston (57-44, 20-15 second half) came off the bats of Ryan Cermak and Alberth Palma.
The Pelicans provided most of their damage in the second inning, scoring five runs on three hits, including a three-run triple off the bat of Alexey Lumpuy.
Myrtle Beach (40-59, 13-22) added its final run in the bottom of the sixth.
RiverDogs relievers Jacob Hartlaub and Jeremy Pilon combined for five innings of one-run ball to finish the game.
