Rennes in talks with Franck Haise over contract extension

Rennes are in talks with head coach Franck Haise over a contract extension, as revealed by the club’s Sporting Director Loïc Désiré. Haise returned to Stade Rennais, where he used to be a youth coach, in the winter as a free agent following his dismissal at Ineos-owned OGC Nice. Rennes turned to Haise after Habib Beye’s defection to Marseille.

Haise quickly turned Rennes’ favours around to lead Les Bretons back into European competition with a remarkable record of eight wins in twelve Ligue 1 games. Rennes have already shown their ambitions early on in the transfer market with the signings of Adrien Thomass, Issa Soumaré and Gonçalo Oliveira, as well as the contract extension of Ligue 1’s best goalscorer last season, Estéban Lepaul.

Now, Rennes want to bring stability and continuity in the dugout with a contract extension in the works for Haise. “Talks have begun“, Désiré said to Ouest-FranceFranck has done a very good job with his staff since he arrived. He knows the city, the region, and the club very well, and we want to build a long-term relationship with him.” Haise is currently tied with Rennes with a contract set to expire in June 2027.
