Although Maliq Brown was never known for his scoring at Duke, the former Blue Devil found other ways to make a winning impact. Brown did the same thing Sunday evening in his third NBA Summer League game for the San Antonio Spurs, playing a pivotal role in a 90-80 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks.
Brown tallied just four points but stuffed the stat sheet in other areas, adding nine rebounds, five assists, four steals and two blocks. This included a tremendous performance on the offensive glass, creating second-chance opportunities with seven offensive rebounds.
While Brown didn’t sign a guaranteed deal with the Spurs, he’ll have a chance to play NBA minutes next season on a two-way deal. In the meantime, San Antonio (2-1) will face Utah (0-2) Wednesday.
