Ravens’ most important non-starter entering 2026 training camp

The Ravens’ most important non-starter entering training camp may come down to two very different offensive values: Adam Randall’s package upside or Danny Pinter’s ability to stabilize the offensive line.
Randall is the more intriguing name. Baltimore selected the former Clemson running back in the fifth round with the No. 174 pick, and his background as a converted wide receiver gives the Ravens a developmental back with receiving value and unusual size. Randall is listed at 6-foot-3 and 232 pounds on Baltimore’s roster, and his dual-threat profile gives the offense a player who could eventually be used in creative packages behind Derrick Henry and Justice Hill.
That matters because the Ravens do not need Randall to become a traditional backup immediately. If he can handle enough pass protection, special teams, and receiving work, he could give first-year offensive coordinator Declan Doyle a bigger back who can align in different spots and create matchup questions.
Still, Pinter is the better answer because Baltimore’s center situation is more important to the offense’s weekly stability.
The Ravens lost Tyler Linderbaum, and the team did not draft a center, leaving Pinter, Jovaughn Gwyn, and Corey Bullock as the primary contenders for the job. The Ravens’ official site identified those three as the top in-house options, with the competition expected to carry into training camp. Pinter played 139 offensive snaps last season and brings more NFL experience than the rest of the group, giving Baltimore a veteran option in one of the most important battles on the roster.
If Pinter wins the job, he is no longer a non-starter. But if he opens as the top backup or swing interior option, his value still could be enormous. The center must handle protection calls, work cleanly with Lamar Jackson, keep the run game organized for Henry, and help the offense transition into Doyle’s system.
Randall could reshape packages. Pinter could protect the structure of the offense. That makes Pinter the Ravens’ most important non-starter entering camp.
