PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD/WYZZ) — Morton scored goals in each half and blanked visiting Peoria Christian, 2-0, in boys soccer at McClallen Park on Wednesday.
Cooper Smith scored on a header off a cross from Joe Anders in the first half and Logan Whitaker blasted home a goal with just under four minutes to play.
Morton goalkeeper Levi Sander had a clean sheet as the Potters improved to 7-1-3 on the season. Peoria Christian, a class 1A team, slipped to 4-7-2.
Washington, Central Catholic and Illini Bluffs also won soccer matches on Wednesday.
