Predators sign Mavrik Bourque to 6-year, $33 million after trade from Dallas

The Nashville Predators have signed forward Mavrik Bourque to a six-year deal worth $5.5 million annually, the team announced on July 4.

The Predators acquired Bourque from the Dallas Stars on July 1, sending them a 2027 second-round pick and Vegas’ 2028 third-round pick (originally acquired in the Cole Smith trade on March 3). Nashville also acquired defenseman Ilya Lyubushkin in the trade.

Bourque, 24, had 20 goals and 21 assists in 82 games last season. A first-round draft pick (No. 30 overall) in 2020, Bourque is a skilled forward with excellent vision in all three zones.

At 5-foot-11, 187 pounds, he should fit nicely into the Predators’ top six starting next season.

This was general manager Chris MacFarland’s fourth trade to acquire a player since being named president of hockey operations on June 2. He also has gotten forwards Ross Colton, Jack Drury and Adam Edstrom.
