Penn State alum Abdul Carter comments on LeBron James’ free agency

Some professional athletes choose to try form new connections with the sports teams in the city they play for, but this doesn’t seem to be the case very often with Pennsylvanians. While former Penn State stars Micah Parsons, Saquon Barkley, and Abdul Carter may have played for or currently play for teams outside of Philadelphia, they consistently show up and speak out to support.

Carter was selected to the New York Giants back in 2025, one of the Philadelphia Eagles’ bitter, but that hasn’t stopped the promising pass rusher from showing love to his hometown teams. NBA legend LeBron James is currently a free agent and is widely reported to be considering the Philadelphia 76ers as a potential destination.

Carter, a proud 76ers fan, took to social media earlier this week to discuss the future Hall of Famer’s next move, predicting that James will come to the City of Brotherly Love.

The former Nittany Lions star is honest and vocal bout his love of the 76ers, likely ruffling some feathers for his support during their matchup with the New York Knicks this past postseason. Who knows where James will land, but Carter seems very confident that he’ll come to Philadelphia.
