Pair of individuals, teams to join DeWitt Athletic Hall of Fame

A pair of teams and two individuals form the latest class joining the DeWitt Athletic Hall of Fame.

Jason Fish and Jordyn Shipps will be joined by the 2020 football team and the 2020 boys soccer team as part of DeWitt’s latest class, which will be unveiled to the public on Friday, Sept. 11.

Fish, a 2002 graduate, was a standout swimmer who owns the top times in program history in the 200 IM and 100 butterfly. He is a two-time LSJ swimmer of the year.

Shipps graduated in 2021 and also was a swimming standout. She was a two-time state champion, was the Division 2 swimmer of the year in 2021 and owns the fastest times in Greater Lansing in the 200 IM and 100 butterfly. Shipps went on to swim at Oakland University.

The 2020 Panther football team, led by coach Rob Zimmerman, won the program’s first state championship.

DeWitt’s 2020 boys soccer team coached by Joe Ishraidi was the state runner-up and the first in program history to reach a state championship game.
