Paddy Pimblett was not interested in overcomplicating things when he was asked to compare England’s World Cup nerves with his own fight week pressure.

The Liverpool native had a hilarious response after a reporter asked whether he was more nervous about England’s upcoming World Cup quarterfinal or his own UFC 329 fight vs Benoit-Saint Denis.

Pimblett, known for his blunt answers and quick wit, looked almost frustrated by the question before making it clear that there was only one event that he was focusing on.

Paddy Pimblett had the perfect answer to England question

When asked whether he was more nervous about England’s World Cup clash against Norway or his own fight, Pimblett could only give a wry smile at the comparison.

“I’m not nervous about either.”

The reporter then asked what Pimblett is more excited about.

“What do you think, lad, something that 11 other fellas are gonna do or something that I’m gonna do? It was a bad question,” said Pimblett in utter frustration.

The exchange perfectly summed up Pimblett’s mindset ahead of UFC 329. While he has never hidden his support for England, the lightweight contender made it clear that his own preparation comes first.

His honest and humorous response quickly made the rounds on social media, with many fans appreciating his straightforward attitude.

UFC 329 could put Paddy Pimblett back in the title conversation

Pimblett is set to face Benoît Saint Denis at UFC 329 in one of the biggest fights of his career.

A victory over the dangerous Frenchman would strengthen his position in the lightweight division and move him closer to the elites competing near the top of the rankings.

A convincing performance could also keep Pimblett firmly in the conversation for blockbuster match-ups, including an anticipated clash with Ilia Topuria.

While a title opportunity is unlikely to come right away, another statement win would further cement his credentials as a legitimate contender in one of the UFC’s toughest weight classes.

For now, though, Pimblett’s priorities are clear. England’s World Cup campaign can wait – his full focus remains on the task awaiting him inside the Octagon at UFC 329.
