Packers’ quarterback may already be packing his bags despite competition to be Jordan Love’s backup

The Packers’ quarterback room is going to look a lot different this season.
Jordan Love remains entrenched as Green Bay’s starter, and is widely viewed across the league as one of the rising young stars at the position, still.
Packers’ No. 3 quarterback competition could be heating up
However, Malik Willis cashed in with the Miami Dolphins in free agency, creating competition this spring and summer to become Love’s top backup in the Packers’ quarterback room.
As John Sbisa points out for FanSided, Kyle McCord may already be preparing to pack his bags.
After all, the Packers signed veteran Tyrod Taylor to provide stability behind Love, and leaned into their developmental reputation at quarterback by signing Kyron Drones as an undrafted free agent out of Virginia Tech.
Taylor has the reliability and experience to step into the offense at a moment’s notice, should anyting happen to Love, and Drones seems to be a handpicked prospect by general manager Brian Gutekunst and Matt LaFleur, which could make it difficult for McCord to hold onto a roster spot.
At a minimum, the battle between Drones and McCord for the QB3 role will be one of the more fascinating position battles to watch unfold during training camp this summer.
