Manchester United have made initial enquiries to sign Paraguayan goalkeeper Orlando Gill from San Lorenzo, with the 6’6″ World Cup standout available for around €10m.
According to Brazilian outlet RTI Esporte, United have been tracking Gill since the beginning of the season. His profile at the World Cup – where he was named FIFA Player of the Match against both Germany and France – has accelerated that interest significantly.

What Gill brings to the table
The 26-year-old plays his club football in Argentina with San Lorenzo and established himself as Paraguay’s standout performer during the tournament. United’s football department are said to value his imposing aerial presence, composure in possession, and the belief that he has the ceiling to become a leading figure in European football.
San Lorenzo are willing to sanction a sale if offers arrive in the region of €10m – a modest outlay for a goalkeeper who just raised his profile considerably on the global stage.
The obvious question: where does he fit?
It is difficult to see a clear path to minutes at Old Trafford right now, with Manchester United having strengthened their goalkeeping department this summer. Earlier this summer, United convinced Karl Darlow to snub a renewal offer from Leeds United and move to Old Trafford on a free transfer, with the 35-year-old Welsh star expected to play second fiddle. United have also extended Tom Heaton’s contract, with the veteran set to remain as the side’s third-choice shot-stopper.
