The injury bug continues to be an issue for the Oregon Ducks early on in this season.
After losing a couple of offensive linemen early this year, the Ducks are also apparently dealing with an injury to one of their star playmakers: Wide receiver Jeremiah McClellan.
Before the Portland State game on Friday night, McClellan was seen going through warm-ups in full pads, but he came out for the game in street clothes, sporting a boot on his left foot while using crutches to walk. Teammates could be seen walking up to him throughout the first quarter and checking in on him.
There is no word on how serious the injury is, or how long it could potentially sideline him, but this is something to monitor going forward, especially with a pivotal game against the USC Trojans in Week 4 for Oregon.
So far this year, McClellan has been one of the top receivers for Oregon, hauling in seven passes for 170 yards and one touchdown. The Ducks still have a plethora of other options in the passing game, like Evan Stewart and Dakorien Moore, but this would be a tough loss for however long McClellan is out.
