OG Anunoby Says He’s the Only Player with Style on the New York Knicks Team

OG Anunoby is setting the record straight about who he believes is the real MVP of style on the championship-winning New York Knicks, who ended the franchise’s 53-year title drought.

In his latest cover story with Footwear News, the Nigerian-American forward declared that, out of the Knicks’ entire roster—including Mikal Bridges, Karl-Anthony Towns, and even 2026 NBA Finals MVP Jalen Brunson—he’s the only player with real style. He jokingly added that he doesn’t admire anyone else’s fashion sense.

“I don’t admire anyone’s style on the Knicks. I think no one has good style besides me. No one has good shoes. No one has good anything,” Anunoby told Footwear News.

Then, he made one exception.

“Landry Shamet is my friend, and he does a good job. He dresses cool.”

Anunoby’s confidence isn’t entirely wrong, as the forward recently teamed up with Skechers to release his own signature sneaker, the “NYC Blue” Skechers SKX Nexus.

According to Anunoby, the partnership had been years in the making. While playing for the Toronto Raptors, he noticed former teammate Julius Randle wearing Skechers and decided to give them a try.

“I tried a pair on, liked how they felt, and then kept Skechers in the back of my mind,” Anunoby said.

The sneaker was officially announced in late June, generating massive demand. Tens of thousands of fans signed up for preorder notifications, and the available slots sold out almost instantly.

For Skechers, the collaboration became even more meaningful after Anunoby helped lead the Knicks to an NBA championship.

“Having a player who played such a pivotal role in a championship win as the face of our brand is extraordinary,” Skechers President and co-founder Michael Greenberg said. “It’s the kind of moment that validates everything you’ve been building. We were already incredibly proud to have OG as part of the Skechers family, but watching him help the Knicks secure a victory was something else entirely. To me, it felt like a win for us, for our product team, and for everyone who believed in him.”

Anunoby also made history, becoming the first NBA player to win a championship while wearing Skechers basketball sneakers, another milestone that certifies his claim of being the Knicks’ best-dressed player. Let’s see if that sense of style rubs off on his teammates next season.
