Beginning with Sunday’s matches, every game previously scheduled to air on Victory+ will instead stream free on NWSL+, the league’s direct-to-consumer platform. The league said the move will not affect its broadcast schedule and fans will continue to have free access to the impacted matches.
The NWSL did not comment on the reason for the immediate termination of its agreement with Victory+, and the streaming platform did not immediately respond to request for comment.
The decision comes amid mounting uncertainty around Victory+, which has recently seen multiple leagues exit the platform. Earlier this month, the Texas Rangers announced they were ending their partnership with the platform in the middle of the MLB season, while the Anaheim Ducks informed the platform they also intend to terminate their agreement.
According to Sports Business Journal, which first reported the news, Victory+ has had difficulty securing additional financing since February. The publication reported that Victory+ has had equal trouble funding its minimum-guarantee payments to teams across multiple leagues.
Victory+ joined the league’s media rights portfolio in September 2025 as part of a mid-cycle expansion of the NWSL landmark broadcast agreement. The free, ad-supported streaming service was scheduled to carry a weekly Sunday night package with a live alt-cast, including former players Ali Riley and Kelly O’Hara and a handful of streamers, along with dozens of additional regular-season matches through the 2027 season.
The move does not affect the NWSL’s other media agreements. National broadcast windows on CBS Sports, ESPN, Prime Video and ION will continue as scheduled.
