There were multiple Notre Dame football 2027 5-star targets that were more than viable options just a few weeks ago, but as recruiting does, changes happen all the time.
In this case, it was a change that the Irish could benefit from, as Florida linebacker Kaden Henderson was leaning towards Miami, but shockingly dropped them off his top late last week. It was a significant move for Notre Dame, and they are looking to take full advantage of the nation’s No. 22 overall prospect in the 247Sports Composite looking to leave his home state.
On Sunday, the possibility for Notre Dame to land Henderson went up, as On3’s director of recruiting Chad Simmons added a projection (subscription required) for that exact scenario to happen. This didn’t seem like a realistic match just over two weeks ago, but plenty has changed since then.
This would be a great surprise if the Irish do end up seeing Henderson commit, and that could happen very soon as he’s scheduled to take his official visit to South Bend next weekend.
