Nebraska misses out on five-star recruit Albert Simien to Notre Dame

The Nebraska Cornhuskers missed out on one of the top offensive linemen in the class of 2027. Five-star interior offensive lineman Albert Simien committed to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Friday. He chose ND over Nebraska, LSU,Ole Miss and Texas A&M.

Simien is the 19th overall prospect and the second interior offensive lineman in the 2027 class on the Rivals industry rankings. He is also ranked highly in Louisiana as the third-overall player in the class. He measures 6 feet, 3 inches and 295 pounds.

He was recruited to Nebraska by offensive line coach Geep Wade.  The five-star prospect has been to Lincoln five times, with the most recent visit being on June 5 for an official visit.

The Huskers’ 2027 recruiting class is still in a good position and ranks 18th nationally with 22 commitments. This includes seven blue-chip commitments.
